The Journey Begins
In July I had my first consultation with the SL consultant. She was attentive and informative and we set a date for August 19-20 for my Journey to begin. First Kim, my consultant, cut about 5-6 inches from my traditional locks, then she cut another three inches and began combing out the remaining locks. Let me tell you, I am "tenderheaded" and had not felt such torture since I was a little girl. She ended our day by shampooing and putting my hair up in a marvelous large puff ball on the top of my head. My journey would continue the next day and I could barely sleep. It's funny how earlier in the summer, while I was a "SLer-in-waiting", I combed out about five of my traditional locks. Most people are under the impression that traditional locks have to be cut, but that is not the case. Mine were cut down because it would have taken forever to comb out all the length I had. The photo at the beginning of my blog shows the back of one of my updos. Since I am new to blogging, please be patient with the photos, because I'm not to proficient in that area yet. Also, my consultant has promised to email me the photos she took at the shop. Let me just stop here to say, I am anxious to join the Bloggers community, but, like I said, I'm new at this and would appreciate comments. Anyway, I am six days old and have the "handinhairitis"!
